Making Math Click, One Piece at a Time

Expert tutoring for Grades 3 - Algebra 2 from a 15-year math teacher who uses visuals, storytelling, and memory techniques that actually stick.

Every new student starts with a free first session.

When Math Starts to Feel Like Too Much

Maybe your student understands math in class, but freezes when doing it alone.

Maybe homework has turned into tears, frustration, or flat-out refusal.

Maybe they have fallen behind and don't know where the gaps even started.

Or maybe they've started saying the words every math teacher dreads: "I'm just not a math person."

That belief is almost never true. And it's exactly what I change.

What I Offer

I offer weekly tutoring, homeschool curriculum support, and summer sessions for students in grades 3 through Algebra 2. Sessions are available online or in-person for local families in the Montclair, VA area.

What Working Together Looks Like

Here’s how getting started works:

  1. Book a free call. We spend about 20 minutes talking through what your student is experiencing and what kind of support would help most.

  2. I identify the gaps. Together we figure out where the confusion started instead of what the current grade says.

  3. We build a personalized plan. I put together an approach tailored to your student's needs, learning style, and goals.

  4. We get to work. Weekly sessions focused on clarity, confidence, and real understanding — not just getting through the homework.

Who This Is For

This tutoring is designed for students who need more than re-teaching — they need someone who will slow down, figure out where the understanding actually broke down, and rebuild it from there.

I work with:

  • Elementary students (grades 3–5) who need foundational support before gaps get bigger

  • Middle schoolers (grades 6–8) who need foundational math support or need help navigating Pre-Algebra or Algebra 1

  • High school students who feel lost in Algebra 1, Geometry, or Algebra 2

  • Students with learning differences or disabilities who need a flexible, adaptive approach

  • Homeschool families looking for structured, experienced math instruction

If your student is somewhere on that list, the next step is a free conversation. No commitment, no pressure.

Ready to Find Out What Your Student Needs?

Every student's situation is different. Sometimes the problem is one missing concept. Sometimes it's a confidence issue that has snowballed. Sometimes it's a learning difference that hasn't been fully accounted for in the classroom.

Whatever it is, we'll figure it out together, starting with one free call.
